Students of all ages and special needs receive health and disability related services. Our program's success is thanks to the many dedicated staff, school district personnel, and partnering agencies with whom we work to provide programs and services.

On-site audiometric assessments, otoacoustic emissions for accurate testing of children birth to 21 years old, as well as hearing education materials. Generates reports to districts, parents, doctors, and outside agencies. Connects parents with support and counseling services. Assists with the location of funding sources for parents and schools for hearing-related equipment.

The ESD 112 Regional Autism Consulting Cadre is a group of concerned, interested professional educators seeking to enhance their base of knowledge regarding persons with autism. Further, the cadre will develop and support the dissemination of best practice information through meaningful consultation to and collaboration with school districts in the ESD 112 region.

CHILD SCREENING

Serves 3-5 years. Screening determines the child's eligibility for intervention and program needs. A team of qualified professionals works in partnership with parents to design and implement a program that is individual to each child and family. Parental expectations and ideas are primary to the program development and implementation.

State contract with DSHS/ITEIP to provide training for Family Resources Coordinators. Training also provides continuing education for coordinators who are already registered throughout the state.

Basic health consulting services regarding immunizations, oral medication, health screenings, health assessments and other health issues are available. Nursing, health education, consultation and or training is available for school staff. Nurses' priorities are to develop emergency care plans for students with potential life threatening conditions, review care plan specifics with pertinent staff, and conduct training as needed. Safety for students and staff is the utmost importance.

State-affiliated national outreach project. STEPS model relies heavily on a community approach to supporting families and children in planning for transitions among environments. Effective transitions prepare children to enter school ready to be successful.
